THE RATTRAY SILVER ARROW became the centrepiece of a famous grand archery tournament contested within the parish of Rattray, Perthshire, intermittently between 1612 and 1727.

CURLING is a Winter sport which originated in Scotland and can be traced back to the Middle Ages. The oldest curling stone dates from 1511 and is in the Stirling Smith Museum. Scottish emigrants took the game to other countries, and curling is particularly popular in Canada.

The game of golf is said to have originated in Scotland, where, in the early days, players, using a bent stick or club, would hit a pebble over sand dunes.

Both Blairgowrie Tennis Club and Rattray Tennis Club celebrated their centenary in 2020.

Blaikie's Bikes

Alexander (Sandy) Blaikie was born at Dull near Aberfeldy in 1876. The 1891 Census records that, aged 14, he was working as a Telegraph Messenger. By the 1901 Census he was employed as a Rural Postman in the Aberfeldy area.
